GTcentral's ICT Strategic Planning and Review Services are assisting schools develop quality ICT plans that are being used when applying to the Government National Secondary School Computer Fund and in ensuring they can support the rapidly changing requirements of teaching in the digital world. The following services are available:
ICT Reviews - These are held over one or two days and involve a series of interviews with key school staff. This allows us to develop a baseline of the ICT environment and identify the critical technology issues influencing the school. The resulting detailed report prioritises these issues for action by the school as time, resources and budget permit.
ICT Strategic Planning - The ICT Strategic Planning service develops the Review outcomes into a plan for the future that identifies and records the business drivers, performance areas, key activities, resources, desired outcomes, available budget and timing. This plan is developed in consultation with a range of leaders and other stakeholders with a vested interest in the future of ICT in the school from both teaching and learning and ICT. The plan is designed to be submitted as part of an application for funding to the Australian Government's National Secondary School Computer fund.
ICT Funding Application Assistance - Over four years (2008-2011) the Australian Government is committing new funding to provide grants of up to $1 million to eligible secondary schools depending on need and enrolment as part of its Digital Education Revolution. The grants are available for ICT equipment such as computers, whiteboards, cameras, printers, projectors. Funding is based, in part, on the evidence of a school ICT Plan, the quality of this plan and on the school’s capability to support and implement the proposed procurement. GTcentral helps schools develop ICT Plans to maximise their funding opportunities and then can provide technical and management resources to help implement and support the new technologies.
ICT Plan Implementation - GTcentral assist schools deliver the key activities identified by their ICT Strategic Plan and provide qualified technical staff to manage day-to-day ICT support, deliver specific projects and to implement solutions and strategies recommended as a result of the ICT planning process.
Staff ICT Training - GTcentral provide training to teaching staff in the effective classroom use of computer-based applications and tools that include Microsoft Office products, web technologies and learning aids including electronic whiteboards, cameras, projectors.
